Wound Care

·

I have a close friend who seems to constantly try to one up me or claim he knew something or saw something first. He probably does this to others as well, but I seem to challenge him. It makes conversations very difficult when I decide to share something meaningful. I will suddenly feel the competition. The one upping can take the intention, content and meaning and disregard it. It is disrespectful if I take this behavior personally. It really lets all the air out of the conversation’s balloon. The whole interaction becomes off-putting. Keep in mind that I only see this because I have exhibited this behavior as well and probably continue to do this to some extent even though I became aware of this in my life a while ago. If I am practicing, I return to my Truth that we are all God’s children and we all are damaged goods to some extent. I do know this good friend is consciously refining himself to the image of our Creator.

True love understands the wounds. We are wounded and we are hurt. We almost always remember our history and the traumas that have happened. It takes conscious intention to be aware especially when in the midst of negative behaviors. Of course, the present moment will allow for you to transcend those wounds and that history. You can start new and fresh this very moment and began living a new life without reverting to old habits that were toxic. It isn’t that you have amnesia and forget the past, but we can disallow our history to be our identity. So many people continue to live out their traumas long after the events are over. It becomes their identity. They may receive negative attention like sympathy as a reward. Right now, you can remember who you really are. We have the True Perfect Vibration deep in every cell of our body which is who we really are.

“Perfect love casts out all fear” … the fear of not being good enough, the fear of what if, the fear of not getting what you want, the fear of others doing better and receiving some sort of favorable treatment or luck are fears that do not have to live in our heads. When we know the Truth of who we really are and how BIG we really are, we can then see that we are all a perfect creation in God’s making. We know that we are not separate from each other. We are all One. We are all waves in the ocean and we’re all connected as the ocean. If we actually could see our auras, we would see how connected we all are in one big Light. Sometimes, I get afraid of loss or I can become afraid of not looking good in others eyes. I know this happens with me. When we understand how to love, we understand others and when we understand others, we learn how to love with that practice. The beautiful man who passed not long ago named Thích Nhất Hạnh said, “Understanding is another name for Love”. I love that.

When it rains it pours and I seem to be getting this lesson over and over. Not taking things personally and not judging others because we do not know anyone’s full story are recurrent themes for me right now. Trials are how we learn and achieve the purposes we are here to accomplish. We get to grow from repeated opportunities. We are in our choice, so we can avoid and ignore and respond out of fear or we can be a brave and strong warrior and decide to beat that ugly monster. We get to swing our bat at the ball and maybe we don’t have a good batting average at first, but that will improve with practice. It is a chance to stop the pain. We only have trials so we can overcome our own pain and heal the wounds of our Soul. I always have the opportunity to view my brothers and sisters with Love. We can remember that someone is either approaching you with Love or asking for Love with their painful behavior. WWJD? Jesus would have approached the wounded with a form of medical attention. He would have understood emotional and spiritual wound care. It isn’t what a person is saying that he’s communicating in a negative way, but rather he’s communicating from his wounded nature. Jesus would have seen beyond someone’s off putting behavior. Christ consciousness will see anyone spitting poison as a very wounded soul asking for help. Perfect awareness can heal with care, with Love, with acceptance and certainly with Understanding. Jesus would have taught how to see this reality, stop the bleeding and lift the vibration toward Love.

With sincere spiritual wound care and the Wisdom of how to be present, we can help ourselves and other people to grow beyond our own petty insecurities. I must exercise and practice extreme Compassion to myself. If I judge that someone’s being petty and insecure, I am reacting with pettiness and insecurity. I will be offended, but if I know they do not even know they are acting out of pain then I will transcend feeling offended. I will not have to raise my vibration to a higher form of Love, but transcend that process altogether having the higher vibration of Love immediately. I decide to be offended when I judge them as offenders, but if I see them as lost and wounded, I can give wound care which is Love. With this Wisdom, I can not just treat my wounds, but never even visit a negative emotion rooted in fear when I understand other’s pain and bleeding. I want to heal my wounds when I encounter behaviors that demonstrate another’s wounds. I hope and desire to minister to them when they do not even realize they are acting out of fear and pain. I must take care of my wounds now with Understanding of my actions and thoughts and where they are rooted. A person bleeding out cannot help the other person next to him who needs care. Jesus said, “Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye”. This is so brilliant and it seems humorous in the absurd example of a log in your eye. We have a responsibility to love ourselves. Once we can start healing and loving ourselves, then we can we start to minister to others. Otherwise, they will see our wounds and our efforts will look inauthentic.

This lesson I received from my brother who annoyed me is priceless. I want to and have to see life this way … the way of the Christ or Buddha. It is that Perfect consciousness that we can ask for. We can call out for help to see a situation with the consciousness of our Creator. We have to believe that we will be given help and Wisdom in our times of need. Our loving God wants us to heal and view everyone with the only thing there actually is … Love. Everything less than Love is based from fear. I am not afraid.
