This is a continuation of my discourse about a group of verses from “A Course in Miracles” that address the what, why and how of Truth and reality. The Course is a spiritual text that was a channeled dictation from Jesus Christ. The Course can be described as a self-study spiritual thought system that teaches the way to Universal Love and Peace through Forgiveness. The Course is not aligned with any particular religion, although it uses Christian terminology, and its teachings are intended to be universal in nature.
Truth lies only in the present
and you will find it if you seek it there.
The only reality is the present moment and it is the key to experiencing Peace, Truth, and the presence of God. This means that the eternal “Now” is where Heaven resides and is the only place where we can experience perfect Truth. The past is just historical data and the future is a story we make up. If we want to get detailed and beyond most of our understanding, the past, present and future are all happening at the same time. Recently, scientists at MIT even came to this conclusion about the illusion we live in. These two illusions are created by the ego to keep us trapped in fear, guilt, and separation from God. God exists outside of time and the present moment is the gateway to experiencing Truth. The present moment is the path to forgiveness which is the key to happiness.
“Forgiveness is the great release from time. It is the key to learning that the past is over.” This is in the Course. In the present moment, we can choose to see ourselves and others through the eyes of Love rather than judgment. Forgiveness is a miracle. The changing of your mind is true alchemy. It is like changing lead into gold. The present moment is where miracles occur because it is the space where we align with the Holy Spirit’s guidance and see the world as a reflection of Truth and Love.
To live in the present moment, we must let go of the historical data that is called the past. The past has no hold on us and it owns so many people’s identity. “I’m the mom who lost her child.” or “I am the one who suffered this tragedy.” These identities are not in the current moment and are over if you choose to let go and grow. We can see these moments as opportunities for growth and a gift. We can release all anger or guilt and any attachments to past experiences if we practice living in the eternal Now. We can release the future as well. We have to trust our Creator that ultimate control is safely in the hands of something greater than us. In each current moment, we can focus on Love and not fear. In times of choice, we can ask a question … Is this choice based in Love? If not, then we can avoid or make a different decision. This is the power of the moment. There is peace in this moment.
This holy book (ACIM) defines miracles as shifts in perception that occur when we choose Love over fear while we are in the present moment. They are natural expressions of aligning with the Truth. In the very first chapter of this book it says “Miracles are natural. When they do not occur, something has gone wrong.” When we are present, we open ourselves to allowing change in ourselves and others. We must give room for change in all people or else we are discrediting the power of our Creator. This is the definition of blasphemy. The present moment is where God’s Love can only be truly experienced because it is outside the ego’s judgment and projections. It is the only time where healing, change, and connection with the Divine can occur. It is the time of death and rebirth. We are connecting with eternity and the timeless presence of God in the moment. It is where we let go of grievances and open ourselves to the healing of our minds. The present moment is the doorway to peace and the place we must be for a deeper connection with the Divine. The more we can live in the Now, free from the ego’s distractions, the more we can experience the reality of God’s Love and eternal Truth.
Truth is restored to you through your desire,
as it was lost to you through your desire
for something else.
Ask and it is given. Desire is the basis of any creation. You must want to do something before you do anything. When you feel a desire for Truth, it is a signal that the Spirit of God is already in alignment with you. The alignment to Love is how it is restored. Truth in innate. Truth was given to us at birth. We were born Perfect and it is our ego and the world’s collective conscience along with our cultural fear and conditioning that corrupts Truth after we are born. Truth is restored to you because we have all lost our concept of what real Truth is at some point. In this restoration, we must continually allow and receive this gift through our daily practice of alignment to Love. We may finally understand what Truth really is, but that doesn’t mean we will always Know. We will forget and become conditioned by this world’s collective conscience and be swayed into disbelief. This means getting out of our own way by fleeing from our past conditioned thinking rooted in fear. We are not separate from God or each other. We are One with Christ. Truth is Knowing Love. Fear and not Love is a corrupted response from our life experience and ego and a total lie. We are worthy of wonderful things which includes Truth because we are children of God. The universe can only bring you what you want when we align to it and allow it. Our desire for Truth is already being lined up and Truth is ready to flow into our lives when we align our will and are in vibrational alignment with Love. Our nurturing God loves us so much and wants to give us perfect Truth.
The moment you have a desire whether proper or improper, it is instantly fulfilled by our God. We seem to desire fear-based things because that is comfortable based on our past choices. Fear seems exciting which is why there are whole genres of movies based in fear. Fear and listening to lies are how we lost Truth from the beginning. The desire we have for Truth is not random. It is a reminder and is guidance from our Inner Being which is our Higher Self. When we align with our desire for Truth, we are aligning with our True Self and the flow of the Universe. Raise your vibration by aligning to Love and your desire for Truth will flow into your life.
