Truth and Reality – Part 3

·

This is part 3 of my discourse regarding a group of verses from “A Course in Miracles” that address the what, why and how of Truth and reality. The Course is a spiritual text and channeled dictation from Jesus Christ. The Course can be described as a self-study of spiritual psychotherapy that teaches the way to Universal Love and Peace through Forgiveness. The Course is not aligned with any particular religion, although it uses Christian terminology, and its teachings are intended to be universal in nature.

How can a Fact be fearful
unless it disagrees
with what you hold more dear than Truth?

Genius. I have to read this in the opposite way to strike a chord or accord with me. How can a Fact not be a Truth. For it to be an untruth, it must agree with what is less than Truth. Facts and Truth are one and perfect. We perceive many things as facts. These facts are self defined like any words in any language. Their definition comes from a place of advantage. Definitions are essentially created by your life experience and agreement. It is like when people argue and debate a topic as if there is only one perspective and only one right answer. There is however, Absolute Truth. These are unchanging. They are givens. The 7 Hermetic Principles are an example. We sometimes will get confused and mistake facts for Facts.

Fear is a construct of our mind. It is a lie that we believe and choose to act on frequently. It is usually based in a false sense of control and lack of Trust. We must question what we find fearful. We may not even realize we respond in a fearful way until a fearful action by us takes place. It is then, when we recognize our behavior, that we can begin our practice. As we are practicing, we become even more aware, more often. If we use diligence and have a commitment to excellence, we can use our will to defy this nature and behavior in the future. This daily practice is what refines us for the alchemy of change. Our vibration lifts and the next time we react to Facts, we will recognize the Divine Nature and respond in Love.

The search for Truth is but the honest searching out
of everything that interferes with Truth.
Truth is.
It can neither be lost nor sought nor found.
It is there, wherever you are, being within you.
Yet it can be recognized or unrecognized.

Sometimes we have to trip and fall to learn a lesson. Let me clarify … Almost Always rather than sometimes. By trial and error and discovering outcomes that do not serve us well, we discover the way to do things properly. We find ways of doing that will gratify us. I am on a Path of self-love. This is a long and winding road that I am trodding. I would love a short cut, but I am pretty stubborn and hard headed. It takes a lot of falling down and scraping of my knee for me to learn. But, I am learning. I am learning through finding what is Not Truth. Not Truth can be a way to Truth. We actually can never learn except by experience. Even the advise that seems self-evident is rooted in childish lessons … maybe even the lessons you learned before you can remember.

Truth is! In the Bible, God is described as the Great I Am. The I am! This is all encompassing. This is all. All good. All perfect. All knowing. All present. Truth is only God which is only Love. So, what is Truth? Anything that is Love is Truth. Anything that is Not Love is Not Truth. If Truth always is, then it cannot be lost. If Truth is God and God is Love and God is in every cell of every thing, then it always is. There is movement in every atom and unbelievably every atom is 99% empty. This emptiness is what we seek to hear God speak. Rumi, the brilliant Persian poet, said, “Silence is the language God speaks.” How beautiful. Truth – Love – God is in everything. We can look inside to find our answers and ultimate eternal Truth.

Our greatest gift in this gift of Life is Free Will. This is beautiful that we are not told what to do or how to do it. We get to choose for ourselves via trial and error. We can get so sick and miserable with our untruth that we can try Truth. We can find Love. Yet, we do not have to. We can choose anything we want to. We can even quit. We can end our physical bodily life. This is the worst choice one can make, but it is an option. This choice is highly discouraged. Yet, we have that power that we can use to choose anything. Finding Truth however, is our Journey. Listening. Seeking. Being. Trying. Doing. Deciding. Living in Truth and Love is the highest of choices and essentially the highest vibration to live. We can recognize Truth and we can choose not to recognize.
