Truth and Reality – Conclusion

·

This is the fifth part of my discourse regarding a group of verses from “The Course in Miracles” that address the what, why and how of Truth and reality. The Course is a channeled teaching that emphasizes forgiveness as the road to inner peace to understand the nature of God. It is a self-study psychotherapy curriculum that aims to assist individuals in achieving spiritual transformation. The Course is not aligned with any particular religion, although it uses Christian terminology, and its teachings are intended to be universal in nature.

Nothing Real can be threatened.
Nothing unreal exists.
Herein lies the Peace of God.

This is one of the most quoted and beautiful verses in this blessed book. This seems to sum up the essence of God. When you can see clearly and understand the primal form of our existence, you only Know God. God self-described the Source of all things as the Great I Am. In the ancient Judaeo-Christian book of Exodus, Moses was told by our Creator that the I Am has sent him and spoke to him those words he conveyed. I Am signifies God’s eternal, self-existent nature. Our Creator simply is. God is everything. God continues to be in everything. God is the True Reality … the basis for the existence of everything. This name of I Am or the equivalent is not just in the Torah or the Bible, this has been the name of God in every religion in ancient Egyptian or Greek texts, Eastern philosophy like Buddhism, Taoism and Hinduism and the indigenous traditions. These all have a common theme of eternal self-existence, Transcendence and Unity. This Source of all things is what is Real. It is what True Reality is. God and Reality and Truth are only Love. There is nothing else. All else is made by man and based in fear. This is the common story of man’s separation from God which is all about fear. Unity is Love. So, nothing unreal exists and this is how you can understand the Peace of God.

When a situation has been dedicated
wholly to Truth,
Peace is inevitable.

As we go about our days, we must practice finding Truth and Reality. These are the same when we see clearly who we really are. We are only Love and our innate nature is our True Self which is the Spirit of our Creator. God leaves a residue in everything made. Residue is a poor word, but remember all words are just pointers to what we cannot understand or describe. Presence and Awareness cannot ever be “understood”. They can only be felt by experience. I can use all the words that seem appropriate to describe the Eternal, but I will never come close. God is the root of all of creation and all of creation is built around this Eternal Energy. So, as we practice daily our return to Truth and Reality, we can ask the question … Is this Truth? Is this Love? If we choose a response based wholly in Truth and Love, then the Peace of God that we can only Know by feeling is inevitable. In Truth is where Peace lies.

This concludes this commentary on this small portion of The Course in Miracles. In summary, the highest vibrations of God are Love. Peace, Truth, Reality, Safety, Freedom, and the Present Moment are Eternal. They are Infinite and always available to us to tap in to. These are the vibrations of our Creator. When we are down and we are feeling and thinking our thoughts rooted in Fear, we can lift ourselves as well as others with Knowing Truth and Reality. This vibration changes ourselves and the world with the scientific laws of vibrational resonance. We can Know Truth by quieting the noise and fear in our minds and accessing the True Reality which is the vibration of Love … of God.
