I Want To Get Back To My True Self

·

I am working on becoming more like Christ or the Buddha or whatever Ascended Master you understand. We already have our True Self at our core. Everyone has the True Self of our Creator in every cell of our bodies … everything in the world has the Spirit of God inside. The movement and vibration of Perfection is in all things. Literally, there is an unstoppable electron rolling around a nucleus just like the movement of our planet around the Sun. What is this energy? It is God.

For me to find my highest version of myself while in this lifetime, I must identify that a Perfect version of me is at my core. When we are born, we are perfect. A baby is not born a sinner. How absurd to think so! We all know a baby is perfect! We can feel the pure energy. To think otherwise is a strange intellectual leap. The highest version of ourselves is at our core. When we start to become older from day 1, we begin to listen to our culture for domestication. We are told we are bad and we need to be a good boy or girl by doing certain things. We start to ice over. We continue to develop more ice over our core and the ice is of deception and gets thicker and thicker, hiding our True Perfection.

To be the highest version of ourselves is not what we are willing to add. People think we have to be better humans by doing good things. Adopting abused children or doing good deeds or going out of our way to our detriment to help another will get us there. These are great things, but do not help us become our True Self. It’s not about adding things to our life. It’s about subtracting! It’s about releasing what no longer serves us. It is about chipping away at the ice and removing the dogma and cultural lies and the habits and consciousness we have adopted that keeps us in a lower state of vibration. Things like toxic people or information we are inundated with. We have to let go of negative self-talk and thinking that we are worthless and small. Things such as these drain our energy and bring negativity. We must have boundaries and distance ourselves from human and nonhuman vampires that suck our energy.

I realize I have a habit of trying to help people. This can be great if those people are asking for help and want the help. My Spirit Guide asked me why I want to help others? That was such a good question since I didn’t even realize I was trying to do this. I realized it was such arrogance on my part. Everyone’s answers are inside of them. Everyone actually knows what to do which is why a good counselor or coach asks people questions rather than telling them the answer. This allows them to engage in a solution and be onboard and invested. I know my answers and they may be a helpful perspective and I do think I know some Divine Truths, however I cannot tell anyone anything unless they ask for my thoughts. Helping others can be fine, but it has to be the proper timing. I feel things very deeply and would be called an empath, but I can drain my energy doing this. I cannot save, heal or rescue anyone. They have to do that themselves. True healing comes from within and my role is to inspire.

Attachment can be something that hinders my spiritual growth at times. Attaching to outcomes. Attaching to a future goal or desire can be un-manifesting because you are not present when you do this. Having goals and dreams are essential to a happy life and very natural. We are not to be stagnant. We are to be like a shark and moving forward eating what we want that is present at the time. We must not be in emotional attachment however, but rather in gratitude for the amazing things we currently have.

Another thing that I am still learning and creeps up on me when I think I have it mastered is a need for validation. When I first began my spiritual awakening 10 years ago, I learned how to be present. I NEVER understood this. I was always in the past or future because of the intense childhood trauma I underwent. I had very little reading comprehension and could not read well because of this. It was viewed as a learning disorder. Actually, what the issue was is I didn’t know how to be present. Being present should be taught to children at an early age, but sadly most adults don’t know how either. My sister gave me the book “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. This book blew my mind. I blew through it and listened to hundreds of hours of every lecture of his I could find on YouTube for about a year. The present moment holds the key to all things. He said something though in a lecture that stunned me. It was contrary to everything I had ever heard. He said that it was perfectly okay to just be normal … mild mannered … not standing out. This is a state of not needing validation. I don’t have to have people think I am great or special. I can just be. To be is where our power is. Not necessarily doing, but being. We are human beings, not human doers. To do is amazing. We should be Love and do Love. When we discover who we really are … our True Self … then we can do amazing things to help others and ourselves. We do not need others validation when we can live in our Truth. The need for validation is one of the biggest blockers to spiritual growth because every time you seek validation outside of yourself, you disconnect from your inner power. Our worth isn’t determined by anyone else. You can know it by melting the ice to see your inner Kingdom of Heaven.

Overthinking and judgment of ourselves and others are problems that keep us from getting to our True Self. Our minds are tools, not our identity. We must disconnect from our thoughts and know we can have thoughts and not act on or be them. We can just observe and be the watcher of our thoughts and not claim them as an identity. When our mind is overactive it disconnects us from our intuition, our presence and our peace. How we quit overthinking isn’t about stopping our thoughts. That cannot really happen. We can empty our minds, but another thought will come eventually. We can practice the emptiness and like holding our breath, we may get better, but eventually we will need a breath. It’s about creating space between you and your thoughts. When we judge ourselves or others, we create separation between us and God and others. We disconnect from our Divine Nature when we judge anyone or anything. By practicing compassion, we understand that everyone is on their own unique journey and that includes you! When you catch yourself judging, ask what part of me am I projecting on or see in someone else. You can ask … what part of me needs love right now? Asking questions will shift our energy from judgment to understanding and from separation to Unity.

Being in this present moment means letting go of the past and future projections. We are not our history. That is just data that got us here. We can be brand new this moment. I tend to replay past mistakes, regrets or painful memories in my mind. The past is a teacher, not a prison cell which is where I find myself sometimes. I must take the lessons and know it isn’t really me. Our culture wants to label everything because of fear. Fear is a thief and a liar. Well, we can heal and have room for growth. Letting go of the past isn’t just about mental effort. It’s a deep intentional practice of forgiveness. Forgiveness of ourselves and forgiveness of others. When we forgive, it is self-love. We aren’t doing our offenders a favor. We are dropping a dead corpse we are carrying. This was from a book I where learned about forgiveness called “The Mastery of Love” by Don Miguel Ruiz. It is an amazing book that taught me that everyone around you smells the stinky corpse that is rotting which you are carrying and wants you to let go, yet you still carry it and show it off as your identity and prize. Let that damned thing go! What we hold onto in our past is sabotaging our ability to chip away and melt the ice that surrounds our True Selves.

The deepest and most liberating thing we can do to raise our vibration to be our True Self is surrender. This isn’t waving the white flag and quitting. It is about letting go of the things that aren’t serving us any longer. Raising our vibration isn’t about control or about forcing or striving, it’s about true surrender. I think about the account in the Bible of the story of Abraham placing his son Isaac on the altar for sacrifice. Killing the first born male was common in ancient times, even the Mayans did this. This story is where God commands Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. However, at the last minute, an angel stops Abraham, and a ram is provided as a substitute for sacrifice instead. Abraham was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to let go and surrender for the Higher Good and find his True Self. This may seem crazy, but would you be willing to give up what you love most to find your True Nature? Are you willing to let go of everything that weighs you down … your fears … your expectations … your need to control outcomes … what you value most to be in the flow of life? We do not need to kill our first born, but we are holding on to things that prevent us from the Kingdom of Heaven. I know I do. I like to hold on to any love I come across. I clinch and won’t let go sometimes.
I must surrender what I want most and my need to control outcomes as well. We often try to micromanage every detail of our lives. We tend to think that if we just work harder then everything will go our way. This need for control comes from fear … the fear of the unknown, fear of failure, fear of disappointment. The paradox is that the more we try to control, the more we block the flow of abundance. We have a Resource that has our backs and knows the future and wants the best for us! Our Creator has a plan far greater than anything we can imagine! We can release our control and attachment to the outcomes of what we want and do. Let go and let God is the saying. We can trust that whatever unfolds is divinely inspired and for our greatest good. We can measure our success not by how much we money or things we have or what we have achieved, but by how much Peace, Joy and Love we have in ourselves and the lessons we have learned in this lifetime.

All of these things weigh us down and keep us from living in our Higher Self. The best version of us is already inside and we can let go and surrender the junk we hold on to that doesn’t serve us. It is like a huge helium balloon that is tethered by sandbags. When you cut those ties that bind it to the weight of the sandbags, it takes off up to the sky. We must release what is weighing us down. Release the past. Forgive ourselves and others. Let go of past pain and resentment. Remove the people and habits that do not serve us any longer. Remember, forgiveness isn’t about condoning what happened in the past, it’s about freeing yourself from its grip. It is about saying I release this so I can be free and float to the heavens. God is on our side. We will always land on our feet. We are always supported and when we surrender, we don’t lose control, but have unrealized freedom. We can see our True Divine Self. We live in alignment with the flow of life. All of our desires like Peace, Joy, Love, Abundance, etc… are already within us. We just have to melt that ice we have accumulated and surrender to what we are clinging to and controlling. It isn’t about doing more, it’s about letting go and trusting and aligning with the infinite Source of all things.
